Fairway Aerification update

We will be starting to aerify fairways today on holes # 1,9, and 18. We will be using a solid tine this go around. The solid tines will not leave a plug and will recover much faster. Sanding the fairways will commence tomorrow and into Friday. A sanding contractor will be here on Monday to finish off the rest of the fairway sanding. This should be finished by Tuesday sometime. We'll do our best to allow play through and we are sorry for any inconvenience. We were unable to sand the fairways on our first aerification for a variety of reasons, most of which were weather related.

Jay Geise

Jay has now been with us for a little over a year. Jay comes by way of the great state of Ohio. From an early age Jay loved the game of golf so when he graduated high-school he enrolled at Ohio State where he earned a Bachelors degree in Turfgrass Science and Plant Pathology. While in school he worked at Muirfield Village Golf Club where he experienced two Memorial tournaments. He also did two internships during his college work, one at the Plateau Club in Sammamish, Wa and the other at the Medinah Country Club in Chicago. He was involved with the construction there before the Ryder Cup was held in 2012. After school he took an assistants job at the Plateau Club where he was employed for three years. Since coming to Canterwood, Jay has been doing a great job of helping us provide great playing conditions on a consistent basis. Besides playing golf Jay loves to ski. Equally as important to him is Ohio State football and hanging out with his bulldog Natron.
