Greens treatment

Recently we applied a fungicide product on the greens. The granular size of this product is quite large, larger then we'd like to see, but very effective in warding off any disease. With the overcast, cold and wet weather continuing, it is providing some insurance against our friend Fusarium (Michrodochium nivale) or as it is also called, Pink Snow Mold. While we haven't seen any new Fusarium starting up, the conditions are ripe to possibly have some appear. Because the size of granular is larger this time, it may take some time for it to work into the ground. It shouldn't have an effect on the ball roll, but if you must blame a missed putt go ahead and blame it on the product and I'll take the heat!

Jay Geise

Jay has now been with us for a little over a year. Jay comes by way of the great state of Ohio. From an early age Jay loved the game of golf so when he graduated high-school he enrolled at Ohio State where he earned a Bachelors degree in Turfgrass Science and Plant Pathology. While in school he worked at Muirfield Village Golf Club where he experienced two Memorial tournaments. He also did two internships during his college work, one at the Plateau Club in Sammamish, Wa and the other at the Medinah Country Club in Chicago. He was involved with the construction there before the Ryder Cup was held in 2012. After school he took an assistants job at the Plateau Club where he was employed for three years. Since coming to Canterwood, Jay has been doing a great job of helping us provide great playing conditions on a consistent basis. Besides playing golf Jay loves to ski. Equally as important to him is Ohio State football and hanging out with his bulldog Natron.
